What You'll Do
- As a Cook at St. Mark Village, you are responsible for preparing daily meals and special event menus in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with the culinary team in food production, menu planning, and the preparation of baked goods, sauces, soups, and other meals from scratch
- Ensure food safety and sanitation protocols are followed, including maintaining a clean kitchen environment
- Oversee the proper presentation of meals, supervise and mentor culinary associates, and ensure accurate, consistent, and timely food production
What you will need:
- Chef/cook certification or a minimum of 3 years of quantity cooking experience in lieu of a degree or certification (required)
- Experience in hands-on quantity cooking in full-menu environments (required)
- Senior living or healthcare kitchen experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of Residents or team members
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
